It is important to resist the temptation to make our own plans without first bringing them before God and seeking His direction. Before we commit ourselves to a path, we should ask whether it has received His approval.

When we allow God to guide our decisions, we can trust that the outcome will ultimately be for our good because He loves us and desires what is best for us. That doesn’t always mean the outcome will be the one we hoped for at the time. Often, God’s answer only makes sense when we look back and see the bigger picture. He sees what we cannot. He knows the end from the beginning.

Today, my greatest desire is simply for God’s will to be accomplished in my life.

I thank God for bringing me to a place of spiritual maturity where I began to see life from an entirely different perspective. Nothing else matters to me if it is not ordained by Him. No career is more important than the one my Creator has prepared for me, because that is where I know I will find true fulfilment. No relationship could ever compare to the one God has chosen for me, because that is where I will experience genuine peace, purpose, and lasting joy.

There is an incredible freedom that comes from surrendering your life to God. It feels as though a heavy burden has been lifted from my shoulders because I no longer feel the need to figure everything out on my own. Instead, I lay my plans, dreams, and worries before God in prayer and trust Him to direct my steps.

I truly believe that the safest place anyone can be is in the centre of God’s will.

That requires faith. It requires trusting that God will never lead us astray or abandon us. Life will not always unfold the way we expect, and the journey will not always be easy. Yet if we remain patient and continue to trust Him, we will eventually understand why He led us the way He did.

I experienced this personally.

When I was at university, I studied Biomedical Science with the intention of progressing to medical school and becoming a doctor. If someone had asked me whether medicine was truly the career I wanted, my honest answer would have been no. I pursued it because I believed it was what was expected of me and what seemed like the most secure path.

Yet throughout those years, I found myself constantly daydreaming, writing novels, and filling pages with poems.

Deep down, I had always wanted to be a writer.

I simply convinced myself that writing wasn’t a sensible career to pursue.

Looking back now, I am incredibly grateful that everything which happened after graduation led me back to the path God had placed in my heart all along. Writing is not simply something I do—it is where I feel most alive. It is where my passion, personality, and purpose come together.

Sometimes God plants desires within us that may not appear to be the safest or most practical choice, yet they are the very things that lead us to the greatest fulfilment.

I am living proof of that.

Today, I cannot imagine doing anything other than writing. It aligns so naturally with who God created me to be. When I think about the path I once tried to force for myself, I can only imagine the unnecessary frustration and dissatisfaction I would have experienced had I refused to let God redirect me.

Sometimes when we commit our plans to God and doors begin to close, it is not because He has forgotten us. It may simply be His way of leading us toward something far better than we could have planned for ourselves—a path filled with purpose, fulfilment, peace, and joy.

I have never felt more at peace than I do now.

That peace doesn’t come from having a perfect life. It comes from knowing that my life is in the hands of the Creator of heaven and earth.

I no longer want to exhaust myself trying to force doors open that God has chosen to keep closed. I would rather walk through the doors He opens in His perfect timing.

When our lives are surrendered to God, we can rest in the confidence that His plans are always better than our own.
