7 Days of Purpose for the New Year (Day 1)

Living for God’s Glory

Day 1 – A New Beginning With God

Scripture: John 17:1

After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:

“Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. (John 17:1 NIV)

A new year reminds us that God is always inviting us to begin again with Him. In John 17, Jesus lifts His eyes to heaven and prays. Before any action, before the cross, He turns to the Father. This is where our year should begin as well — not with pressure or fear, but with prayer.

As today starts this new season, take a moment to lift your heart to God. Ask Him to guide your steps and shape your days. When we begin with Him, we place our trust in the One who sees the whole year ahead.

Reflection:
How can you make space for prayer as you begin this year?
